The End

I'm Mrs. E. Besides being a mommy and wife, I'm also a grad student working towards my MA in Teaching.  In a moment of craziness I agreed to leave the love of my life and my little sweetpeas and head halfway around the globe in the name of education.  Then 1 week before my departure, my father passed away unexpectedly. Despite my apprehension and sorrow, I chose to go ahead with my journey.  So for the next 4 weeks I will be exploring the German school system from the classroom and making new friends while my soul begins to heal.  This site will provide a glimpse into my cultural confusion, educational successes and personal reflections during my trek to explore life here in Hamburg.

After a long, cold transatlantic flight and short stop at Heathrow, I made it to Hamburg safe and sound.  My host family met me at the airport and drove through the outskirts of the city to my home away from home.  First impressions of Germany's second largest city remind me a good deal of the Steel City, Pittsburgh.  My room is lovely and the view of garden could not possibly be any more quaint.
